Coffee co-pack
Should a roaster sign co-pack contracts, or roast everything in one place?

A roaster in Trieste sells worldwide. Co-pack contracts in Atlanta and Singapore would put roasting closer to customers. Step the price of diesel from $2 to $7 a gallon and see which footprint the optimizer picks.

The Coffee co-pack demo open in the ReliaSim Sandbox
Coffee co-pack in the Sandbox’s Networks tier. Free, no signup and nothing to install.

The question it answers

Is one central plant still cheapest when freight gets expensive? Roasting in one place keeps fixed costs low. Co-packers near customers add contract costs but cut the truck miles to them. Which one wins depends on the price of fuel, which nobody can promise for the life of a contract.

What you’ll see

Green-coffee suppliers, the Trieste roaster, the two co-pack options and customers on a world map. The demo holds 44 saved runs of the AMOS optimizer: four footprints at each of eleven diesel prices. The dashboard shows the choice at the selected price and how each footprint holds up across the whole range.

What to change

Where it leads

A decision that flips with one input is worth testing across that input’s whole range. Tariff network redesign applies the same idea to duty rates, and the tariff demo runs it.
