Sandbox · Lines · Buffer Options
Where the bottling line's buffers pay off
All three buffers sized together in every combination, at three scales. Each point is one 90-day run of the Buffer Options model on the ReliaSim engine.

The surface
Two buffers across the floor, efficiency up the side, the third on the slider. The height and colors fit the slice on screen, so read the numbers on the axis. Contour shows the same slice from above, with lines of equal efficiency. On the contour, the dashed box is the realistic maximum: five minutes of line output in each buffer.
All three at once
Each axis is one buffer; color is efficiency. Shells are surfaces of equal efficiency, like contour lines in 3D. Where a shell hugs a wall, that buffer isn't doing much. Where it reaches far along an axis, that buffer is carrying the line. Points shows every run in the grid. Drag to turn the cube.
One buffer at a time
The other two left off. Buffer 3 climbs fastest and flattens past about 100 cases. Buffers 1 and 2 are still climbing at 500 bottles. Buffers 1 and 2 are sized in bottles and Buffer 3 in cases, the units of the machine each one sits after.

Model: Build Sequence 4 - Buffer Options (v14), Single Run, Parameter Set 0, seed 123, 90 days. Only the three buffer capacities change. Engine: reliasim-cli run, which matched the ReliaSim Player to the last digit on every point checked. Efficiency is pallets ÷ 129,600 (the Palletizer's 1 pallet a minute for 90 days), the same figure the Player shows. One seed per point, so neighboring points carry some run-to-run noise.
